With what looked like a nive day on the water, the plan was to catch a few (200-300) live sardines and cigars and head out to the elton bottom. The crew consisted of 3 PIPE LAYERS, take it anyway you want, and 1 BOBCAT DRIVER looked salty enough. It was just a matter of time before we found out!!
Our plan was right on. We found the bait right where I had hoped too! The 38 mile ride was nice and the first spot was our only stop. What more could you ask for? The fish to cooperate of coarse! They did. We wound up the day with a 45+ Cobia, 10 Mangrove Snapper up to 10 #, 2 Red Snapper, a 25# rainbow runner, 40 nice B-liners, 2 King Fish and Triggers etc. Just about the perfect fishing day.
The ride home started out great, until we ran into thunder bumper at 7 miles east of Mayport. 45 knots of wind , tons of lightening and some heavy rain made the ride interesting. All in all a great day with a new group aboard the SEA DANCER. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE DAY, I DID! Tight Lines!!
