It has been a long dry spell for the SEA DANCER. The weather has been bad for quite a while and today was not exactly what was advertised. NOAA had forecast 10-15 from the SW and we got 20+ for the south. It wasn't what you would call pleasant but the crew I had today made up for it. We had a great time!
We started out fishing at MR due to the rough sea from the south and did OK. We lost a couple of nice fish to the wrecks and managed to keep 3 nice snapper and 1 mangrove and threw back several short snaps and grouper. The breeze began to lay off at around 1130 or so and I made a move offshore about 3 miles to an area of hard bottom that I hadn't been to in quite a while. It was the right choice. The sea bass, grouper and huge redfish got fired up almost immediately. We boated several large redfish, that we released unharmed, around 40 nice seabass, 4 grouper up to 16 pounds, and released numerous small gag grouper. This was a great spot. Final tally, 3 snaps, 4 grouper, 40 seabass and 3 tired fisherman. Pete I really enjoyed you and your crew today. Look forward to doing it again!! TIGHT LINES!!

We'd been talking about taking a trip on the sea dancer for years and the only thing I regret after finally going is that we waited so long to take the opportunity to meet Dennis and get to go fishing with him. It would have been a good trip even if we hadn't caught anything. It was a priveledge and we look forward to next time. Thanks again.
